New Members

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) welcomes Queen Mary University of London’s Library Services, as they become the newest Associate Member of the Coalition.

Queen Mary’s Library Services is custodian of institutional and cultural archives, artworks and other artefacts, as well as research data and other original digital assets.  With the growth of ’digital first’ and digital only  records and research assets, the University is exploring how to ensure sustainable access to assets for now and in the future. With plans to build end- to- end digital preservation into processes, policies and procedures, Queen Mary’s Library Services will be implementing improved processes and technical solutions for digital asset management over the coming years.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to welcome the National Library of Norway (NLN) as its newest Associate Member this month.

The NLN is the official custodian of Norway’s documentary heritage; with legal responsibility for collecting, preserving, and providing access to all published material in Norway. The NLN is located in Oslo and Mo i Rana.

An International Bank has joined the Digital Preservation Coalition on 6th December 2022.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to welcome the Harvard Library as its newest associate member.

With an active digital preservation program since 2000, Harvard Library has a longstanding stewardship commitment to ensure current and future access to and (re)use of materials critical to the University’s research, teaching, and learning mission. The Harvard Library views digital preservation as a process of facilitating meaningful, technically-mediated human communication throughout time.

Dublin City Library and Archive has joined the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) this month, becoming the Coalition’s newest Associate Member.

With ultimate responsibility for preserving the core records of Dublin City Council, the City Archives is working to create a secure reliable digital repository that reflects the business of the Council across all services and departments for born digital records and digitised heritage collections.

This World Digital Preservation Day, the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to welcome the Library and School of Information and Communications Studies at Charles Sturt University (CSU), as they become the Coalition’s newest Associate Member.

With campuses across New South Wales, Australia, CSU has a long-standing interest in digital preservation across its research, teaching and scholarship activities. The School of Information and Communications Studies is currently expanding its research support over the coming years, resulting in an increased need for digital preservation and research data management.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to welcome the British Film Institute (BFI) as its newest Full Member.

With responsibility for the UK’s national moving image archive, the BFI collects and preserves the UK’s film, television and associated special collections, library books and journals. Digital preservation interests include digitized and born-digital acquisitions, at high volume.

“The BFI National Archive has been involved informally in DPC events and initiatives for a few years, and has benefitted immensely from the expertise, resources and support that the DPC’s membership community generates,” explains Stephen McConnachie, Head of Digital Preservation for BFI.

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) welcomes the University of Southampton, as they become the newest Full Member of the Coalition.

The University of Southampton has long been a champion of open access to research and is at the start of a project to ensure digital preservation policy, practice and infrastructure is in place to protect the institutions digital assets for future generations.

The DPC is delighted to announce that the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) has joined the Coalition as an Associate Member. EUMETSAT is the European operational satellite agency for monitoring weather, climate and the environment from space, based in Darmstadt, Germany.

 The Digital Preservation Coalition is delighted to announce the Art Gallery of New South Wales as its newest associate member.

Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of NSW is one of Australia’s flagship art museums and the state’s leading visual arts institution. Located in Sydney on the lands of the Gadigal of the Eora nation, the Art Gallery of NSW holds significant collections of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander, Australian and International art. The Art Gallery of NSW holds the personal archives of over 200 artists, including correspondence, photographs, original artworks and sketchbooks and audio-visual material. Also held are the records from over 50 galleries and art organisations, including the Biennale of Sydney. This is in addition to the Art Gallery’s own administrative records of from the 1870s to the present day.
