The DPC is pleased to offer up to two Career Development Fund grants for members to attend the PV 2023 Conference – Adding value (to) and preserving Scientific and Technical data (#PV2023), taking place on 2-4 May at the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN), in Geneva, Switzerland.

Each grant will cover 100% of conference registration fees as well as a contribution towards travel and accommodation. More details about the grants are provided below, and applications are welcomed from DPC members until the grant application deadline of 7:00 UTC on 7th February 2023.

The DPC is pleased to share a new calendar of upcoming 2023 Career Development Fund Grants, now available on the DPC website!

The calendar provides a list of all planned 2023 Advertised Grant Opportunities with information on the format, location, dates of event or course, and when the Call For Applicants will be announced via the DPC News page.

Following a 1-month exclusive preview for conference delegates, we are pleased to announce that all videos of the recorded sessions at iPres 2022 are now available on general release!

The DPC will be developing good practice guidance on the topic of digital preservation documentation over the next few months, but we cannot do this alone. We are looking for volunteers to join a focus group who will help us to brainstorm this topic. Questions we want to discuss include:

• What should we be documenting?

• How should we be creating our documentation?

• How should we manage changes to the documentation?

• What documentation should be preserved for the long term?

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) has released a new resource designed to provide guidance on the Requirements for procuring IT systems, as part of its Procurement Toolkit today.

Requirements for procuring IT systems proposes the requirements that should be considered when procuring an IT system (for example, an EDRMS, DAMS or GIS), that may ultimately contain at least some records or digital content that need to be retained beyond the life of the system.
